The Only Way Is Essex's James 'Arg' Argent is confident the reality show's stars can beat the X Factor winner's single to Christmas Number One.
The cast of TOWIE are releasing their version of Wham's Last Christmas, which they will be performing live at ITV's Text Santa event at the Kia Oval Cricket Ground in London on Sunday November 27.
Arg said: "As much as I love the X Factor I don't think it's had its strongest year, and I think because of the charity we're supporting, we've got the backing of ITV1, ITV2, and all the magazines and newspapers, we've got a huge fan base.
"So we've got a good chance to get that number one spot. And why not, it's a good song. I think people will be very surprised."
The TOWIE cast will also be taking part in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Santa Claus at the event on Sunday.
Arg said: "I'll be very upset if I didn't have a Santa costume because I want it in my CV, not just being a Bafta award winner, but that I'm an official world record holder as well."
The reality TV star said of performing the single live: "I'm really nervous. As a kid I always dreamt of being a pop star and this is our first glimpse of pop stardom. And to perform it live in front of so many people - they said potentially there could be 17,000 people there."
