Teen Killed By Train At Foot Crossing

A 14-year-old boy has died after being hit by a train near a foot crossing.

British Transport Police were called to the scene in Lincoln, at 8.51am on Thursday.

East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended, and pronounced the teenager, who is from Lincoln, dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokeswoman said the boy's family had been informed, but formal identification had not yet taken place.

She said: "The incident is being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

The train involved was the 7.42 commuter service from Sleaford in Lincolnshire to Leicester.

Police handed back the rail line to Network Rail at 9.50am, today.
