Roberto Soldado has been bracketed with both Liverpool and Tottenham this week but the Mirror feel the need to re-emphasise Liverpool want to replace Luis Suárez with the Valencia striker.
The Star earlier this week touted Soldado for a potential move to Anfield but since then Arsenal have triggered a clause in Suárez's contract enabling them to discuss a transfer.
Tottenham, who seem as incapable of signing a striker as Manchester United are of buying a midfielder (well, not quite), had a £17m/£22m bid rejected, depending on which figure you choose to believe, for Soldado earlier this week.

Valencia want to sell the Spain striker by 3 August for tax reasons, which gives it the whiff of a Daniel Levy deal. Los Che state they won't sell for anything less than the £26m buy-out clause, but the dire state of the Primera Liga teams' finances could force Valencia to accept a lower fee.
Suárez, meanwhile, is angry, which is hardly anything new. Angry specifically at Brendan Rodgers' daily two penneth on him wanting to join Arsenal, write the Star.
Manchester United will not sell Wayne Rooney even if Cesc Fàbregas arrives, which seems like a moot point when the Spaniard would play in midfield beside Michael Carrick and possibly AN Other.
But José Mourinho remains aptly carefree about bringing Rooney to Chelsea, and is willing to wait until after the season begins to bring him to Stamford Bridge, say the Express.
Salomon Kalou, who illogically possesses Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup winner's medals, has rejected a move to West Ham from Lille, claim the Mirror.
Inexplicably successful
Kalou wants to play through the middle and has not been promised said role at Upton Park. West Brom have also had a £4m bid accepted, apparently.
West Ham feature quite prominently this morning. The Star says they are set to open talks about a move for Southampton striker Rickie Lambert and they are also interested in West Brom barmpot Peter Odemwingie, who has seen moves to Crystal Palace and Fulham collapse, according to the Times.
Hull and Crystal Palace are both interested in Aston Villa's Charles N'Zogbia, the Metro report.
And Juventus retain an interest in Manchester City's Serbian left-back Aleksandar Kolarov. City fans hope so, too.
