After around 16 years with Jon Stewart as the host of "The Daily Show," everybody was surprised when Trevor Noah was announced as his replacement, and on Monday we finally got to see what that meant.

"Thank you for joining us as we continue the war on bullshit," said Noah after giving a short tribute speech to Stewart and introducing himself as our new stepdad.

Following that, he went right into comparing Pope Francis to a young Bernie Sanders, ensuring John Boehner he knows how to pronounce his name (winky face) and learning that correspondent Roy Wood Jr. doesn't really care about water on Mars.

Kevin Hart even dropped by to give Noah ties, confirm he's still a "mitch" and to show off his pants, apparently.

Stepping in for Stewart would be pretty daunting for anyone, but it's good to see Day 1 of the Trevor Noah era got us all like ...
