The Foreign Office is investigating reports that two Britons have been shot by a robber while on holiday in Barbados.
The pair - believed to be a man in his 70s and a woman in her 50s - were hit during a stopover while enjoying a Caribbean cruise, it was reported on Monday.
A government spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident involving two British tourists in Bridgetown, Barbados. We are providing consular assistance."
It is thought the woman was shot in her right thigh and the man was hit in his left side.
