An Uber driver charged with killing six people has blamed the app for his actions.
Jason Dalton who was working in Michigan, told police that he could feel a "presence" when he "plugged into the app".
He blamed an icon in the Uber app, which is normally red changing to black on the night of the shooting, Sky News reports.
According to the police report, the 45-year-old said "a devil head popped up on his screen and when he pressed the button the app, that is when all the problems started".
One of Dalton's interviewers said “he recognized the symbol as being that of the Eastern Star, and a devil head popped up on his screen and when he pressed the button on his app, the problems started.”
In the report, the driver says that all he had to do was submit his insurance and pictures of license plate in order to be approved by the Uber.
On February 2016, six people died and two injured in a series of shootings in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Dalton will now undergo a psychiatric test to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.
