You've spent hours planning, writing, re-writing, proof reading and tweaking one of the most important application forms you've had to fill out. Your UCAS university application.
This is the first glimpse of you, as a potential student, that your five chosen universities and colleges will see - so it's important to get it right.
Ahead of the submission deadline - 18:00 on Thursday 15th January 2015 - UCAS' blog has a wide variety of last minute tips and advice to help tweak your application to perfection.
It is estimated that around half of all applications are submitted by the deadline are between mid-December and 15th January.
UCAS has more than 37,000 courses on offer as well as the entry requirements for each one.
Fatuma Mahad, UCAS’ Director of Operations said: “Now’s the time to put the finishing touches to your application. Make sure your personal statement expresses your desire, excitement and commitment to study your chosen courses."
She recommends proofreading it several times before you hit the submission button. A top tip is to read it out loud, as this helps you hear how well your application flows and is a great way to spot any spelling mistakes.
Another golden nugget of advice is to double check all your choices carefully. Mahad adds: "Remember that it’s not a big risk to pick one or two courses which ask for grades which may be a stretch, alongside others which match your teacher’s predictions more closely. This could give you more options when it comes to replying to your offers later in the spring."
If you’re sure everything is completed, Mahad recommends submitting your application now. She said: "That way, you can be sure it’s with us and not leave anything to chance on Thursday afternoon. However, it’s important not to rush and we are here if you need any last minute advice.”
Some Art and Design course application forms don't need to be submitted until Tuesday 24 March 2015. Anyone who is interested in these courses is advised to carefully check deadline dates here.
