An Aberdeenshire family have told of their horror at seeing strange lights hovering in the sky outside their home for 5 and a half hours, leaving them feeling "shocked" and "unsettled".
Grandmother Morag Ritchie, 50, and her family were woken at 2am on Saturday morning by a row of flickering lights.
Ritchie's daughter Cara, 27, said: "It was really scary, I’m actually still scared just in case something happens; like the alien invasion in Mars Attacks."
Could it still be out there?
Cara's fiancee, Scott Bower, filmed the lights, which were still there when the family went to bed,
Ritchie said: "I saw lights in the sky and thought it was a strange looking star. When I looked closer, I realised they were moving in a spinning motion and then occasionally something shot off to the side.
"I kept going back to my bed but I was so unsettled that I continued waking up.
"Even my husband, who is very sceptical, was convinced there was something strange going on."
When the family got up in the morning the lights had disappeared.
Ritchie said: "It was freaky. I just want an explanation.
"Did anyone else see it? It was there for maybe four or five hours.
"I really do not know what it was. I know there are military exercises and there may be an explanation there.
"But why would we be the only people in the universe?"
