Flakes of snow swirled over Britain during the weekend, laying cold white blankets over the countryside and creating heavenly scenes for photographers.
Grouse skidding through the snow caught the eye of one snapper, while a man walking his husky in Cumbria gave the Great British ramble a decidedly Arctic feel.
Grass in Gloucestershire still retained a verdant gleam despite the smattering of snow. However great ropes of frozen water hanging as icicles in Durham transported walkers to the winter wonderland long promised by forecasters.
The cold spell is set to go into February, lasting until at least the end of this week. Temperatures across the UK are predicted to plummet to as low as -10C this week. As walkers dug their hats and gloves from the bottom of the wardrobe, others took advantage of icy scenes to snap some snowy shots. Take a look below.
