A restaurant has been praised for a sign in their unisex bathroom that helps mums and dads avoid awkward situations.
Pure Pizza in North Carolina explained on the sign: "sometimes gender-specific toilets put others into uncomfortable situations".
Diner Larken Egleston took a photo of the sign on 9 January, and tweeted a message saying the restaurant was setting a good example.
The sign reads: "We have a unisex bathroom because sometimes gender-specific toilets put others into uncomfortable situations.
"And since we have a lot of our friends coming to see us, we wanted to provide a place for our friends who are:
"Single dads with daughters, single mums with sons, parents with disabled children, those in the LGBTQ community, adults with aging parents who may be mentally/physically disabled.
"Thank you for helping us to provide a safe environment for everyone."
The Facebook post has attracted positive comments from parents on social media, who have praised the restaurant for taking into account parents' needs and the needs of their children.
One woman wrote: "I have a son who is mentally disabled and requires assistance. Appreciate businesses that provide these types of accommodations for everyone's comfort."
Others called the sign "amazing" and "pure genius".
Juli Metcalf Ghazi, who owns the restaurant, said feedback from customers has been "very, very positive".
She told WCNC News: "About a month ago, a mum who has a disabled teenage son came in for lunch.
"She teared up when she saw that we offered a unisex bathroom and I had this posted."
The mother explained that because her son has reached puberty, she doesn't feel comfortable taking him into a woman's bathroom.
