Veteran actress Jean Marsh was only allowed to resume shooting TV showUpstairs Downstairs following a heart attack and a minor stroke after agreeing to work four-hour days.
The star, who has played Rose Buck in the programme since the 1970s, was hospitalised last year after becoming ill during an event in Oxfordshire.
She was worried she'd miss out on the second series of the TV show's 2010 comeback - and did everything she could to be part of the show.
Marsh explains: "I was absolutely determined (to return to the show). Three weeks after the first episode I had a stroke and a heart attack and in three weeks I'd thrown myself out of the hospital.
"I said I will be alright and the main doctor said, 'All right, you can work again. But you can only work four hours a day'. And I said, 'Terrific!'"
