Illusionist Uri Geller has claimed he caused the flooding in parliament which saw the House of Commons shut down for the day.
MPs were forced to end proceedings early on Thursday after torrents of water began to pour through the ceiling.
“Yes, I did it @HouseofCommons!” Geller – who is famous for his ability to bend spoons with his mind – wrote on Twitter.
“I bent the pipes, and I won’t apologise, you all deserve it! #brexit #startfromscratch”
It comes after Geller vowed in an open letter to Theresa May last week to stop Brexit “telepathically”, warning the PM to halt proceedings to leave the EU before he was forced to take a “drastic course of action”.
“I love you very much but I will not allow you to lead Britain into Brexit,” he wrote.
“As much as I admire you, I will stop you telepathically from doing this - and believe me I am capable of executing it.”
Unsurprisingly, Geller’s claim sparked a fair few responses on social media.
One BBC politics reporter tweeted: “In a hundred years time, this will be the page of the textbook teachers turn to when children ask why we burn an effigy of Uri Geller every year on April 4th.”
