Many British viewers will join political broadcaster David Dimbleby as he presents the BBC's live US election coverage through the night from Washington DC.
A veteran of many a British and American election night, Dimbleby usually gets into at least one or two tricky spots - largely though no fault of his own.
One classic moment during election night 2008 was when he was confronted with an unexpectedly hostile Gore Vidal who told him: "I don't know who you are".
Dimbleby also was forced to defend a fellow BBC reporter from Republican former UN ambassador John Bolton who said he should be "fired".
Well, as long as he doesn't get caught eating a mars bar again.
