Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli presented their Autumn/Winter 2013 couture collection for Valentino in Paris on Wednesday night. The mood? Dark and mysterious. The setting? A flamboyant room decorated with taxidermy at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild. The f-row? An eclectic mix: Anna Wintour, Olivia Palermo and Princess Madeleine of Sweden.
As for the collection, there was a contrast between the ornate detail (lace shimmered in gold and silver, dresses were embroidered with intricate coral prints) and the more practical pencil skirts and overcoats in camel cashmere and herringbone tweed.
