Despite coronavirus infection rates soaring in the US, 90s star Vanilla Ice apparently thinks it’s the perfect time to headline an Independence Day Throwback Beach Party – right in the heart of pandemic hotspot, Texas.
The Fourth of July weekend concert is set to take place tomorrow thanks to a legal loophole, despite bars being closed due to a large surge in Covid-19 cases in the area.
The venue — Emerald Point Bar & Grill, located on the shores of Lake Travis — is technically a restaurant, but also has a large capacity outdoor general admission concert space.
Posting on Instagram, the Ice Ice Baby singer wrote: “The 90s were the best. We didn’t have coronavirus, or cell phones, or computers. We had 5.0′s, blockbuster, Beavis and Butthead, Wayne’s World, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan ... Mortal Kombat is still better than Fortnight ... the last of the great decades.”
The $300 VIP seating tickets have already reportedly sold out.
