Victoria Beckham did a Kate Winslet as she accepted her British Fashion Award on Monday at the Savoy Hotel in central London.
Tears got the better of the designer three times, as she made an emotional acceptance speech.
The former Spice Girl and mother of four, dedicated her prize to her children and her husband, David Beckham,
saying: "Without David I wouldn't have had the courage to do what I'm doing."
She beat fashion heavyweights Tom Ford, Burberry and Stella McCartney to be crowned the Designer Brand Of The Year.
Victoria, wearing a stunning backless dress apologised for being so emotional: "I'm so sorry for crying. This is really rubbish of me" she told the audience.
"I am so nervous, this means so much to me," she said as the British fashion industry confirmed their acceptance of her as a serious force in fashion.
Sarah Burton, who shot to fame designing the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress and Pippa Middleton's bridesmaid outfit, was named Designer of the Year for her work at Alexander McQueen.
