Victoria Beckham is to become a United Nations goodwill ambassador to raise awareness of Aids and HIV.
The fashion designer visited South Africa in February as part of the Born Free initiative, which tackles the issue of HIV being transmitted from mothers to their children.
Victoria - mum to Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 11, Cruz, seven, and Harper, two - will be unveiled as a goodwill ambassador for UNAids, the United Nations campaign on the illness.
A friend told The Sun: "She wants to give back by doing what she can."
Meanwhile, Victoria is planning to celebrate her milestone 40th birthday next with two meals with friends.
The source said: "One will be in LA, the other in London."
