US lingerie superbrand Victoria's Secret has announced it will be opening a London store in 2012 meaning that UK fans will no longer have to resort to stuffing a suitcase while on holiday or stocking up at Heathrow's Terminal 5.
The UK flagship store was announced during a webcast yesterday and will be located on New Bond Street in London's Mayfair district and will occupy a 16,000-square-foot space.
Martyn R Redgrave, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for parent company Limited Brands, Inc, told WWD:
"The mall-based stores will be large box, A-mall-type units with full assortments, but they're in the UK, not the US, and we have to learn. That's what we're looking to do as we expand, in the UK in particular, and those will be company-owned and operated."
The company is best known for its spokesmodels - the Victoria's Secret Angels - who have included Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Miranda Kerr and Rosie Huntington Whiteley and its dazzling catwalk shows so we're already looking forward to a fabulous opening event!
