A former Victoria’s Secret Photoshopper may have just spilled the lingerie brand’s famous ‘secret’.
And it’s all to do with cleavage. (Shocker!)
The cup size boosting powers of the VS padded ‘Bombshell’ bras are well known - Kylie Jenner swears by them too fyi.
But if you ever wondered how the Angels appear to have gravity-defying busts in non-padded and even strapless bikinis, this photoshopper claims to have the answer.
The anonymous photo retoucher, who goes by the pseudonym ‘Sarah’, revealed to Refinery 29 that getting the perfect image starts on the set of photoshoots.
‘Chicken cutlets’ and breast shaping pads are added into the bikinis to boost the models’ breasts, she claimed.
“If you hold up the bathing suit in your own hand, it’s so heavy because they have all this shit sewed into it,” she said.
But perhaps the biggest revelation is how Sarah said the brand ensures models still have cleavage in strapless styles.
“They put a push-up bra under the bathing suit. And we retouch out the bra,” Sarah explained.
Apparently this trick isn’t just used by Victoria’s Secret, Sarah refers to it as “routine practice” and the reason “why we’re used to seeing anti-gravity breasts everywhere”.
What comes as most of a shock in Sarah’s interview is that - despite common misconception - she said the VS retouchers don’t actually Photoshop the models to look any slimmer.
Instead, “nipples are erased” and breasts are made “rounder” and “larger”.
But our favourite part? Sarah said many of the models turn up to shoots without having shaved, sporting armpit and bikini line stubble.
Obviously, it’s all edited out. But it’s nice to know the Angels are just like the rest of us in that respect.
