Victoria Wood's funeral will consist of a "small and intimate" service to remember the life of the comedy legend, a friend has revealed.
The stand-up comedian and writer passed away following a short battle with cancer last Wednesday (20 April), aged 62.
A friend of Victoria's has now told The Mirror her final farewell will take place away from the limelight, with a public memorial service likely to follow at a later date.
Victoria's final wishes are in keeping with the way she fought her battle with cancer, which she refrained from disclosing publicly.
Her brother, Chris Wood-Foote previously revealed she was "determined" to fight the disease in private, telling 'Good Morning Britain': “Victoria was a very private person and was adamant her private life was kept separate, especially when it came down to her two children.
“She made sure she was a proper mother and would arrange demanding schedules around them and that they were sheltered from over-intrusive media. She did that very successfully," he told Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard.
“When it came down to her final illness she was determined it would not leak out and her wishes were complied with, very few people knew she had a terminal illness.”
