Shirley Temple was just six-years-old when she received an Oscar. She started her acting career when she was three and from 1931 to 1950, Temple went on to star in 43 films.
The one thing that got her noticed as a child actor? Her hair. Her mother Gertrude styled Temple's brunette locks before she appeared on set and it's been reported every single look had exactly 56 curls.
After a break from acting, Temple made a career move into politics. She was named a representative in the United Nations General Assembly in the late Sixties and went on to become US ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia.
