Reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were conducting an interview in Moneta, Virginia when the gunman fired what appeared to be a handgun at close range.

Video taken by Ward as he fell to the ground caught the screams and panic of the crew and interviewee as well as a fleeting shot of the shooter's face.

After a chase Williams is reported to have shot himself when confronted by police and is now in hospital in a critical condition.
