A Brazilian student is auctioning her virginity online – for a second time after the original deal fell through.
And Catarina Migliorni has sweetened the deal by showing off the goods in Playboy.
The 21-year-old was propelled into the limelight in October last year after appearing on an Australian website called Virgins Wanted.
The auction to win Catarina Migliorni's virginity ends on 12 December
While the winning bid for Migliorni’s virginity reached £485,000, an auction for Alexander Stepanov fetched a comparatively measly £1,800.
But in Migliorni's case the act was not consummated, no bodily fluids were exchanged and now it’s back on the table.
According to a message on her new website, the deal fell through due to “disagreements” between her and organiser Justin Sisley.
Migliorni posed for Brazil's Playboy magazine in January
Migliorni added that instead of the 53-year-old Japanese millionaire who claimed to have won the auction, she was instead left feeling uneasy after being confronted with a 23-year-old.
“I was surprised and did not believe in that situation and there was no agreement between the young Japanese and me,” she explains.
This time round, bidding ends on 12 December and the minimum Migliorni is prepared to accept is £62,000 – though she hopes to raise £950,000, she tells Brazilian website PurePeople.com. At time of press, no bids had been made.
It's not known just how Migliorni plans to prove she is a virgin, with experts pointing out women's hymens are often ruptured during activities like running or inserting tampons.
Dr Elizabeth Lyster, a gynaecologist from California told HuffPost: "It causes a lot of problems in religious circles."
Yet Migliorni insists: “Well, I am still a virgin in every way and all the evidence, so, I never have had any sexual involvement and no one in this whole world can claim otherwise, and so I decided to make my own website to auction off my virginity and that time will be for real, so men or women who are interested can make their bids.”
