Remember doing everything in your power to avoid seeing your family in public as a teenager? Yup, us too. But one American teen has used his prom night to prove that spending a big night with the family, or more specifically your great grandma, can be pretty awesome.
19-year-old Austin Dennison from Ohio took his 89-year-old great grandmother as his date to prom.
If you're thinking Austin might of asked his grandma Doloros to avoid the shame of having no date at all, you're wrong. The gesture came about after he learned that she'd never made it to her own prom and wanted her to have the chance to experience it.
He said: "I asked grandma if she would be my date to the prom and she said she would be honoured. I told her it would be my privilege."
Too. Cute.
And as if that's not enough to induce a serious 'aww', Austin reportedly bought his gran pearls especially for the occasion which she wore with a sparkly blue dress, to match the tie and handkerchief on her great grandson's suit.
Seriously - we can't take it. If the girls at Austin's school have any sense they'll be queueing round the block to score a date with him. What a gent.
