Police have released CCTV footage of the terrifying moment a female student was chased though a deserted train station in Birmingham by a man who tried to rob her.
The 22-year-old was followed through Selly Oak Station in Birmingham, just before midnight on September 3 after being dropped off by a friend, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The CCTV video shows the student being trailed by a man who then breaks into a run to keep up with her. He later tried to grab the her car keys but she managed to push him away and drive off.
Underneath the video posted on YouTube, the British Transport Police wrote: "We’re appealing for your help to trace a man who chased a woman through a railway station in Birmingham before trying to rob her.
"As part of the ongoing investigation, we have released CCTV footage of the incident at Selly Oak station in an effort to identify the man, and are calling on anyone who recognises him to get in touch.
"Since the attempted robbery, just before midnight on 3 September, we have carried out numerous enquiries to identify the suspect, including anniversary patrols at the station, sharing his image with local police officers and speaking to people in the Selly Oak area.
"If you know who he is, PLEASE call us on 0800 40 50 40 or text BTP on 61016 quoting reference MSUB/B2 of 03/12/15.
"Alternatively, information can also be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
