The BBC have announced that hit show ‘Waterloo Road’ will be axed after the upcoming 10th series, upsetting fans and former cast members who have taken to Twitter to express their anger.
The announcement came via Twitter and former 'Waterloo Road' star Chelsee Healey has also shared her thoughts.

“Series 10 of #WaterlooRoad will be the final series,” reads the BBC’s tweet..
“We're incredibly proud of the show but believe it has reached the end of its lifecycle,” they added.
"Waterloo road has come to an end! Spent 8 years of my life on the show! And loved and appreciated every Minuit also met some amazing people," wrote Chelsee.
BBC Controller’s Charlotte Moore and Ben Stephenson have given a statement on the decision, explaining that they need to “make room for new drama”.
"We are incredibly proud of Waterloo Road, and would like to thank Shed Productions and all the cast and teams involved across the ten series,” they said. "However, we believe it has reached the end of its lifecycle and won't be returning after series 10 finishes in 2015.
“On BBC One it's important to make room for new drama and we are committed to commissioning new drama series for 8pm.”
“There are some really exciting ideas currently in development but nothing to confirm yet,” they added.
The secondary school drama first hit TV screens in 2006 and the show’s cast and crew have picked up numerous awards over the years.
