Obsessed with the dreamy, pink nude Pillow Talk? Can’t get enough of the coral, pink matte Miranda May

Whatever your poison, iconic makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury has released 11 new lipsticks as part of the Hot Lips 2 Collection (shop it here). Inspired by iconic men and women – think: Amal Clooney and Kylie Minogue – the range features creamy nudes, sheer pinks and statement reds.

Costing £28 each and £19 for refills, Charlotte Tillbury is also pledging £1million  towards Women for Women International, a charity that works with women survivors of war.

Available to shop from today exclusively from charlottetilbury.com, the team at HuffPost put the lipsticks to the test to see how the shades delivered and how well they lasted. Here’s what we thought.

ANGEL ALESSANDRA worn by Jessica Pitocchi, Deputy Distribution Editor

“My first soirée into the world of Charlotte Tilbury came earlier this year when I bought the classic Pillowtalk lipstick for my wedding day. Having loved the colour and staying power of that one, I was excited to try another.

“Upon application, I realised I’d got used to a matte finish lipstick so the glossiness took me a bit by surprise, but the peachy nude colour it left behind was soft, flattering and I thought helped give me a nice glow. It’s a very summery shade and very moisturising. Even though the sheen went after my morning coffee, there was still a faint hint of the colour remaining which I quite liked.”

GLOWING JEN worn by Isobel Togoh, News Reporter

“I really enjoyed the feel of this matte lip – it glides on easily thanks to its creamy formula, and is highly pigmented, meaning a little goes a long way.

“I tend to steer away from most peachy-nude tones as I feel they don’t always work with my complexion unless I use a lip liner. Yet this one really complements my skin tone, I think, and is not drying or uncomfortable. It also lasts fairly well – even after a meal.”

AMAZING AMAL worn by Basia Lewandowska Cummings, News Editor

“I’ve never chosen a lipstick for its name, but with Charlotte Tilbury’s new range the opposite was true. I didn’t care much about the colour (in this case, a berry shade I wouldn’t normally wear), instead I wanted to channel a brilliant woman I admire – Amal Clooney.

“The lipstick itself is rich, stays well, and is easy to apply. But really, if it gives me even an inch of Amal’s elegance, I’ll be happy.”

RED HOT SUSAN worn by Akshata Rao, Video Producer

“I really liked the colour – it’s nice and bright and works well for day-to-day use. It stayed on even after I had a coffee and a bite to eat, which is essential in a lippy – I don’t want to spend the day reapplying!

“Even though it’s called Red Hot Susan I thought the shade is more orange than red, but I think it looks good. I will definitely be wearing this one again.”

VIVA LA VERGARA worn by Sophie Gallagher, Lifestyle Reporter

“I am not a lipstick person. I love how it looks on others and sometimes I attempt a red. But when did I miss the class on how to put it on without going clumpy? Despite this, the new Charlotte Tilbury was a surprise. Packaging was dreamy.

“It went on very softly and didn’t drag like other matte products. The colour was fun enough for a night out but also wore in the office with no other makeup on and didn’t feel odd. Plus it smells luxurious.”

PATSY RED worn by Nicola Slawson, News Reporter

“I love this pinky red matte lipstick, and not just because of its sexy leopard print packaging. It’s not as strong as the other red lipsticks I have, which meant I felt more comfortable wearing it during the day at work. It definitely suits my rosy complexion.

“The only downside for me was the square shape of the actual lipstick. Apparently I have a peaked cupid’s bow (you learn something new everyday) and find pointed shaped lipsticks easier to apply. Anyway, it’s still a keeper!”
