WhatsApp has moved beyond the smartphone with WhatsApp Web, a Chrome extension that allows you to carry on chatting through your PC or MacBook.
All you have to do is open up WhatsApp Web, scan the QR code with your phone and it'll automatically log you in.
At the moment the service is only available to those on Android, BlackBerry or Windows Phone which means that yes, you won't be able to use WhatsApp Web if you have an iPhone.
WhatsApp reportedly blames 'platform limitations' and sadly doesn't have a release date for the feature on iOS either.
For everyone else though this is a major update to WhatsApp and while it's basic, theres some question as to whether it could end up rivalling WhatsApp's parent company's instant messaging service Facebook Messenger.
