'X Factor' Results: Sam Lavery Is Latest Act To Leave Competition After Ryan Lawrie Sing Off

Did somebody say DEADLOCK?!

Sam Lavery has become the latest act to leave ‘The X Factor’.

The singer exited the competition during Sunday (13 November) night’s results show, leaving mentor Simon Cowell with just one act left.

Sam was voted off the ITV talent show, after landing in the bottom two alongside Ryan Lawrie, following Saturday’s Disco-themed extravaganza.

In a change to previous weeks, the lifeline vote was abandoned, meaning the two acts with the fewest votes automatically faced the sing off, rather the viewers having the chance to save one of the bottom three.

Sam chose to sing ‘No More Drama’ by Mary J Blige in the final showdown, while Ryan opted to perform Oasis’ ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’.

It was then up to judges Simon, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh to decide who to send home.

Simon and Nicole opted to save their respective acts, while Louis decided to send home Ryan, while Sharon voted for Sam to leave the competition, meaning Deadlock was announced.

After the earlier public vote was then referred to, it was revealed Sam would be leaving, having polled the fewest votes.

Following her exit, Sam said: “Thank you to Simon. Watching that [her best bits], I’m a completely different person from the start of the competition.”

The results show also saw performances from former The Wanted star Nathan Sykes, and 2009 ‘X Factor’ runner up Olly Murs, marking the first time he’d returned to the show following his ill-fated presenting stint with Caroline Flack last year.

Meanwhile, Ant and Dec spun the jukebox live from the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ jungle to chose next week’s theme, and the contestants will be taking on songs from the movies.

‘The X Factor’ continues next Saturday and Sunday at 8pm on ITV.
