The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly upset their Sandringham neighbours - over the renovation of the roof at their country manor house.
The royal couple are reportedly putting bright red-coloured tiles in place old weathered ones on the roof at Anmer Hall, a vast Georgian building on the Queen's 20,000 Sandringham estate in Norfolk,
Disgruntled locals say the vivid tiles are not in keeping with the look of the period building.
According to the Daily Mail, one local resident said: "The building dates back to the early 1800s but it looks more like a Barratt home now. It's not an eyesore but it does look completely different."
However, councillor Mike Tilbury told the Express: "If they are Norfolk tiles they do weather down quite quickly, so I am sure it will look fine in a year or so.
"People are looking forward to them moving in but we are used to the comings and goings of the Royal Family."
The house is being renovated so that Kate and William can divide their time between Anmer Hall and their main base, 20-room apartment 1A at Kensington Palace.
The Mirror reports that the Queen has footed the bill for the new roof, as well as a new 16t x 16ft garden built onto the side of the kitchen.
The hall boasts a swimming pool and tennis courts, and is one of 150 homes owned by the Queen at Sandringham.
