The grieving widow of a man killed at the roadside a week after his wedding has paid tribute to her "amazing, caring and loving" husband.
West Midlands Police said telecoms engineer 27-year-old Matthew Harding - known as Matty - was working with a colleague when both men were hit by a Citroen Picasso on Monday.
Mr Harding, from Oldbury, died from his injuries the next day, while his co-worker suffered broken bones.
In a statement issued through the police, Danielle Harding said: "We are well and truly heartbroken. I don't know how we're all going to go on without you.
"Our babies are devastated because daddy is gone.
"There is no man out there who could or ever would be as amazing, caring and loving as you."
She added: "You truly wore your heart on your sleeve, babes.
"I'm so honestly grateful I had the pleasure of knowing you and being your wife. You really made us whole. Our worlds have been completely broken at this great loss. Our lives will never be the same.
"Me and the boys miss you like crazy and love you like you'll never believe - you were our hero.
"Rest in peace, babes, until we meet again."
The engineers were working on a communications box at a junction in the Woodcross area of Wolverhampton just before noon when the accident happened.
Two 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
A police spokesman said: "This is truly a tragic event which has left a young family devastated, and also shocked the local community.
"We need to piece together the events and can only do so with the help of the public and I would like to thank all of those who have spoken to us so far."
