Woman, 74, Dies After Falling From First Floor At Nottingham Urban Outfitters

A 74-year-old woman has died after falling from the first floor in Urban Outfitters in Nottingham.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to Urban Outfitters in Victoria Centre, Nottingham, at 3.10pm on Friday, April12, following reports a woman had sustained serious injuries after falling from the first floor.

“A 74-year-old woman was pronounced dead shortly after the fall. Her family have been informed. We are not treating the death as suspicious.”

East Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it had sent a first responder, paramedic in an ambulance car, two crewed ambulances and the air ambulance to the scene.

A spokesman for Urban Outfitters said: “We are very saddened by the fatal incident that occurred last Friday in our Nottingham store.  We extend our deepest sympathies to the individual’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.

“We’ve cooperated fully with the authorities in their investigation and are referring any questions about the incident to them.”

Nigel Wheatley, general manager for the centre, said: “We are very sorry to say that a customer passed away after an incident at one of our retailers on Friday afternoon, despite the paramedics and medical team’s best efforts.

“Our deepest sympathies are with her family and friends. We are unable to provide any more information at this stage.”
