A mother has been jailed after killing her baby in a microwave.
Ka Yang was convicted of first-degree murder and assault for putting her one-month-old daughter in her kitchen microwave for up to five minutes.
Sky News reported that Mirabelle Thao-Lo died from fatal thermal injuries from the incident in 2011
The jury rejected Yang’s claims that she had been in the middle of an epileptic seizure when she placed her young daughter in the microwave.

Yang, who has a history of seizures, originally claimed to have lost consciousness while hold Mirabelle and woken up next to a space heater.
According to the Daily Mail, investigators found the little girl’s dummy in the microwave.
During a hearing in 2012, Dr Gregory Reiber explained that Mirabelle’s most serious injury appeared to be a radiation burn which penetrated right through to her internal organs.
He said that the baby would have suffered severe pain before her death.
A judge in Yang’s home town of Sacramento sentenced her to life in prison, serving a minimum of 26 years.
