The World Youth Organisation has confirmed it will officially launch on 11th January 2016. Britain's newest international charity will be starting up from Westminster at the houses of parliament, with guests ranging from MPs to representatives from the charity's board.
CEO Kieran Goodwin will be setting out the charity's plans for the near future and how it plans to provide opportunities to young people on a global scale. The charity has made connections across all 7 continents to deliver educational programmes and opportunities to young people in the realms of politics, environment, business, arts, technology and sport.
Many new initiatives are set to be announced in the run up to and during the launch event, which will include comprehensive plans to educate and advocate the importance of youth empowerment all over the world. World Youth Organisation programs and opportunities are open to anyone aged between 13-25, regardless of background or location.
The launch event will also see the premiere screening of the World Youth Organisation's television ad, starring Olympic and Commonwealth diver Hannah Starling. Filming the launch at Bower Park Academy School in Romford is just one example of how the World Youth Organisation have already been delivering opportunities to young people after they gave drama students at the school the chance to audition for the ad, with many having roles in the final version.
In a recent visit to Calais, CEO Kieran Goodwin spoke to young refugees in a camp set up by French authorities in an attempt to deal with the crisis. The organisation has since declared its support for the refugee movement in Europe and plans to help tackle the crisis alongside other charities by providing a wide range of support for young migrants who are fleeing their countries due to internal conflict. Education is key to the World Youth Organisation's mission statement, and to removing negative stereotypes of young people, so will largely be a focus of the campaign.
With the launch imminent, the World Youth Organisation have said they intend to finalise the guest list, which already contains various figures from the charity alongside MPs, members of the youth parliament and notable journalists.
The charity will be looking to the immediate future after the official launch, with World Youth Organisation officials claiming several widespread and global campaigns are set to be revealed very soon.
