A crossbreed named Quasi Modo has won the title of World's Ugliest Dog, having beaten off a host of other mutts in the California-based competition.
Quasi has a shortened spine, which gives him a very distinctive look. The 10-year-old pit bull-Dutch shepherd mix was one of 27 dogs to participate in the contest, which aims to encourage prospective dog owners to consider adopting less aesthetically pleasing pups.
"We aren't interested in lineage, it's the inner beauty and personality that shine in our World's Ugliest Dog contest," event organiser Karen Spencer said.

Quasi's owners took home $1,500 (£950) in prize money, which is an awful lot of dog food.
Two Chinese crested and Chihuahua mixes named Sweepee Rambo and Frodo came in second and third place, respectively.
