After learning his fate, Andrea said: "It's just incredible. I've come so far. This has been the most crazy and beautiful experience of my life. It's so unexpected. I'm so happy anyway."

Take That opened the show with all three finalists joining them to perform a rousing version of the man band's hit 'Rule The World'.

There were also performances from Ed Sheeran and Meghan Trainor, who was joined onstage by the finalists to sing her huge hit 'It's All About That Bass'.

Ben dueted with Ed to sing 'Thinking Out Loud' whilst Fleur sang 'Beneath Your Beautiful' with Labrinth. Andrea was joined by 'X Factor' alumni, Ella Henderson, to perform her hit song 'Ghost'.

'X Factor' reject contestants including Stevi Ritchie, Chloe Jasmine, Wagner and Chico returned to perform a special version of 'Dirty Bit' by The Black Eyed Peas.

Meanwhile, Andrea's mentor, Mel B, was unable to attend the show after being struck down by a mystery illness. She was replaced by former judge, Tulisa Contostavlos.

I clearly delighted Ben added: "I just can't believe it. Thank you so much."

Both Fleur and Ben will perform their version of One Republic’s ‘Something I Need’ during Sunday's final, which will be released as the winner's single.

There will also be guest performances from Sam Smith and One Direction.

Ben is still the bookies favourite to win the competition at odds of 8/13, closely following by Fleur at 7/4.
