Eliminated ‘X Factor’ contestant Gifty Louise has accused the judging panel of conspiring to get rid of her, following her exit from the show.
Gifty became the fourth contestant to be axed from the show in Sunday (30 October) night’s results show, which did not go down well with the viewing public, particularly in light of the fact that novelty rapper Honey G remains in the competition for at least another week.
Now, Gifty has had her say, and it seems she’s not happy about the result either.
Speaking to Digital Spy about her exit, Gifty was said to be “holding back tears” as she claimed: “I personally think they planned to vote me out – so you know, it is weird really. I did hear Louis say to Sharon, ‘vote Gifty out’. And everyone heard it.
After admitting she was “disappointed” that none of the judges came to say “one word” to her after her exit, Gifty added: “I personally feel like they voted me out to get rid of the competition.
When the result was revealed (accompanied by the sound of boos from the studio audience), Gifty’s mentor Simon Cowell accepted the blame for her departure, admitting that her song choice - the little-known Fifth Harmony cut ‘Fell In Love With A Monster’ - had been a misstep on his part.
‘The X Factor’ continues on Saturday (5 November), when the acts will each be performing songs with a ‘Girlband vs. Boyband’ theme.
We caught up with Gifty shortly after her elimination, in which she discussed her oddest fan experience, gave us a rather dodgy Louis Walsh impression and admitted she’d boot Honey G out of the house given the chance...
