Simon Cowell was as good as his word on Saturday evening's 'X Factor' - sending home Jack Walton, after his rendition of 'Bleeding Love' failed to impress in the Fright Night round.

Taking a leaf out of Lord Sugar's book o 'The Apprentice', Simon had warned earlier in the week that he would be 'firing' more than one contestant this weekend, and that Saturday's loser wouldn't even have the chance to prove themselves once more in a sing-off. Simon called it "a wake-up call".

Now, the remaining 10 must wait until this evening to find out who's joining Jack on the bus home.

Simon told him afterwards, "I think you're out of your comfort zone." And Louis added, "I think you're a small room performer." Ouch!
