‘X Factor’ hopefuls The Brooks have opened up about their troubled family background, which saw them brought up by their grandmother as their parents battled drug addiction.
The 17-year-old twins, Kyle and Joshua Brooks, were taken in by their grandma, Colette Brooks, when they were just 18 months old.
The lads have insisted they still maintain a close bond with their parents, Samantha and Daniel, who have battled heroin addiction.
They told The Sun: “We do still have a strong connection with them, we keep in contact and we love them dearly.
The Welsh brothers went down a storm on Sunday night’s ‘X Factor’ after wowing the judges and viewers with a rendition of the Naughty Boy and Beyoncé hit, ‘Runnin’.
Their delighted grandmother, who was at their sides at their audition told The Mirror: “They are good boys and I’m very proud of them.”
Kyle and Joshua will now head to Boot Camp and will be hoping to make it through the dreaded six-chair challenge and Judges’ Houses stage of the competition.
It’ll be familiar territory for the boys, having previously made it through to Louis’ Judges’ Houses when they last auditioned for the show in 2014.
They were eventually sent packing when Louis put through Stereo Kicks, Overload Generation, Blonde Electra and Only The Young to the live shows instead.
