It seems Luis Suarez is not the only one with a penchant for biting after footage emerged appearing to show a woman sinking her teeth into another passenger on the Tube. The clip, apparently captured by a fellow traveller, was uploaded to YouTube nearly a year ago but has now triggered a police investigation.
It opens with the woman being pushed back against the carriage doors by a man. She then lunges towards him and appears to bite his arm through his jacket, triggering a furious and foul-mouthed row between the pair in front of bemused passengers. When the train pulls into a station thought to be Kings Cross the man says to London Underground staff: "Look at that, she's just bit me."
He then pulls his jacket down to show what seems to be a wound. The video, which was posted in July last year, has been viewed by almost 10,000 people. Police are trying to trace those involved in the altercation. A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "We are aware of the YouTube video, which was uploaded on 18 July 2013 and was recently brought to our attention.
"We believe this incident took place on a London Underground train near Kings Cross St Pancras station and we're keen to hear from any of the people involved. We are currently working to establish when the incident took place and what offences have occurred. Everyone has the right to travel without fear of abuse or threatening behaviour and BTP takes this type of offence extremely seriously."
