Zayn Malik Receives Support From Gigi Hadid After Cancelled Capital FM Summertime Ball Performance

'Those who can find compassion now are the ones who deserve to watch you continue to grow.'

Gigi Hadid has sent a public message of love and support to her boyfriend Zayn Malik, following his cancelled Capital FM Summertime Ball performance.

Shortly after it was announced that the former One Direction star would not be performing, he posted a statement on Twitter, explaining that the “anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me”.

On Sunday evening (12 June), Gigi then posted her own lengthy message to Zayn, praising his “bravery” and “honesty”.

Her post reads: "Z – I've seen the battles you go through and the way you fight to get to a place that allows you to get up there for your fans. Your bravery in those times makes me proud, but your honesty last night proved what you're all about, being real.

"Human recognizes human. You made the best of the situation and have given your fans an opportunity to understand you better as a performer.

“Those who can find compassion now are the ones who deserve to watch you continue to grow. We are all here to support you and make each experience easier. Your talent and good heart will never lead you wrong.

"Love you and so proud of you always :) xG. [sic]"

While many fans took to Twitter to show their support for Zayn after the cancelled live appearance, a number of ticket-holders were understandably upset to learn he wouldn’t be taking to the stage.

The announcement was made just minutes before the ‘Pillowtalk’ singer was due to perform, and the crowd were simply told that his decision came following unexpected “illness”.
