Your Weight Does NOT Define You - Three Mindset Secrets

Why is it that you can get bogged down so easily with your weight and your body image? Why is it that we think of ourselves as fit, fat, skinny, ugly? Here, take this example. Let's just say that you're on a weight loss quest.

Why is it that you can get bogged down so easily with your weight and your body image?

Why is it that we think of ourselves as fit, fat, skinny, ugly?

Here, take this example. Let's just say that you're on a weight loss quest.

Now let's just say that this week you don't do so well - you eat a litte more junk than you'd like to have eaten, you feel bloated and full. After looking in the mirror or feeling that extra roll over your jeans you say to yourself;

"Ugh, I'm so fat. This is never going to change."

What did you just do? You defined yourself as fat. Your just told yourself that you're destined to be fat forever. When in actual fact you've actually lost weight every week for the past six weeks.

So hold on a minute, wouldn't that mean you should define yourself as a success?

No, of course not. That's the thing; we view ourselves in a negative light all the time.

We find it difficult to see ourselves positively. We find it difficult to see everything we're doing right, we find it difficult to compliment ourselves. We find it difficult to acknowledge our successes.

Sort of crazy right?

That's just how we're wired.

Ok, if we're wired that way then why are you even talking about it Beatty? Well, there is a secret, ninja trick you can use to reframe all of this in your mind which is going to make your life.

Your mind believes everything you tell it. If you tell it you suck then it's going to think that you suck. It really is that simple. How about we step back for a moment and decide to treat our mind with respect and train it to think differently?

That would sound good, wouldn't it?

I'm not going to lie to you though. It's not easy and at times, it really can be difficult.

Secret #1 - Surround yourself with Positivity

Just like negative people and negative events bring you down, the same is the case with positivity. Positivity is contagious too. The more you use it the better you feel.

The more you use it the better you'll think.

The more you use it the better your life will become.

But you know what? It's not as difficult as it may seem. Try listening to motivational music in the mornings. Try reading personal development book. Start hanging out with people who are driven and want nothing more than to help you to succeed.

Secret #2 Affirmations

Hold on, wait, I know what you're thinking - that's all that airy fairy hocus-pocus nonsense. I understand why you might think that way. i used to be the exact same. Really!

Affirmations are a totally normal and incredibly powerful way to improve your life without spending any time or money on it. How do you do it?

Ok, I know there's a big process sometimes to affirmations but what I like to do and what will work well for you in the beginning is simply compliment yourself every single day. Seriously, just give yourself a compliment and you'll be blown away by how much your life changes.

Secret #3 Practice Gratitude

This is by far the most important one. We tend to spend a lot of time going after new shiny objects. When was the last time you sat for a moment and just thought about all of the things you're grateful for? Or all of the things that make you happy in your life?

Probably never, right?

Here's a challenge for you - get yourself a journal. Each day, whether it's in the morning or before bed I want you to write down 3 things that you are grateful for.

This can be anything from a conversation you had with a friend, to your family, your job, your business, your health, the sun, you're getting the picture right?

it can be ANYTHING!

Alright, so what do you need to do now? Remember this. Your weight does NOT define you.

Surround yourself with positivity

Compliment yourself daily

Practice gratitude

Sounds simple?

It is!

Committed to You
