Adam Dow

Writer, aspiring to inspire about positive thinking beyond mental health issues.

My name is Adam Dow.

I am a 21 year old writer from Tamworth, Staffordshire and currently living in Glasgow to study.

Over the last four years or so, I have been through a lot of difficult times with mental health. I was diagnosed as Clinically Depressed and it was a very dark period in my life. Initially, the stigma against being a young male with a mental health condition was something that held me back. But I guess I could say that I broke the mould; I wanted to reach out to people because I knew that I wasn't going to be able to get better all by myself. So I wrote a blog, and luckily, many people reached out to me and for the first time, I felt that I'd helped people, and that feeling was something I didn't want to go away. It was the first time that my expression through words was received in such a helpful way, and that is what inspired me to continue writing about my journey from the depths of depression to the place I am now. I want to help others see that there is a way to help yourself, and that you can find happiness by doing simple things everyday to make the bigger changes overall.

We all have mental health, let's look after it.

I write quite personal blogs about my own experiences and I hope that in reading my story/work you can relate to me, and hopefully I can help you in anyway at all. I have a keen interest in writing and poetry and I am very lucky that people have taken an interest in what I have written in a positive and constructive way.

Thanks.

I can also lend my hand to football, music, political current affairs along with my main subject; mental health. Please feel free to contact me for writing enquiries.
