Alec Shelbrooke has been the Conservative MP for Elmet & Rothwell since May 2010. A former Leeds City Councillor, Alec is a Mechanical Engineer by profession having previously worked as a Project Manager for the University of Leeds. In November 2010 Alec was appointed the Parliamentary Private Secretary to Transport Minister Theresa Villiers.
