Writer and charity founder, Alison Hitchcock started up From Me to You, a charity encouraging people to write letters to friends and family suffering with cancer, keeping them connected at a time when they feel most disconnected. The inspiration for the charity came from her own experience of writing over 100 letters to a friend when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2010. From Me to You run workshops, letter-writing days hosted in libraries and run the Donate A Letter campaign inviting anonymous letters to be written to cancer patients receiving treatment in hospital.
