My ESRC funded PhD research is on young people's politics at the University of Bath
Ben Bowman is a PhD candidate in the Department of PoLIS at the University of Bath, studying on a 1+3 ESRC disciplinary studentship at the South West Doctoral Research Centre. His PhD is on young people's politics. Ben has previous professional experience in youth engagement as well as voluntary experience working with young people in the UK and in Russia.
His PhD research explores young people's everyday politics in the UK using participatory methods, such as participant-led digital photography. The research builds from the perspective that young people inhabit liminal political spaces and explores the toolbox of methods for political engagement available to young people as they adapt to their ambiguous political position during the risky transitions to adulthood.
