CEO, Xeros
Bill Westwater is CEO of Xeros, a disruptive technology company that is commercialising bead-cleaning technology. This technology is currently being used for a new type of washing machine where the Xeros polymer beads replace much of the water: washing clothes by absorbing dirt and stains into the bead structure, while using 70% less water, 50% less energy and around 50% less detergent than a conventional ‘aqueous’ washing machine.
Bill has a background in marketing and international brand management for blue chip corporations, such as P&G and Royal Dutch Shell, where he was responsible for Ariel detergent in China and Shell Helix globally.
In 2000, he succeeded in establishing a new healthcare retail business within Hutchison Whampoa, a critical component in the division’s £140 million floatation on AIM in 2006.
Following this, he began his career in entrepreneurial “clean technology” start-up’s, building expertise in corporate partnering and venture financing. Bill joined Xeros as CEO in mid-2008. He is a University of Oxford graduate.
