I started out as a scientist (biochemist to be exact) but quickly tired of pipetting things in an empty lab and headed for the bright lights of ad land. In my spare time I throw myself into icy water, climb things, cycle, fight grown men, dance, and whatever else comes up - all in the name of ditchthetreadmill.net, my sports blog. I love learning new things and reading unusual stories. I find people infinitely fascinating and strange. I am at my happiest when covered in mud. I have inadvertently set up a fashion retailer with a friend because she needed a strategic brain, a columnist and an editor. I am all three, but I'm not allowed near the fashion.
