I am a professional writer. My main interests are history and business. As a history writer i tell stories from 'unusual' angles. Eurovision! tells the story of Europe since 1956 via the Eurovision Song Contest. First Class tells the story of Britain since 1840 through postage stamps (as does its American cousin). As a business writer, my best known book is The Beermat Entrepreneur, co-authored with Mike Southon, which is being republished in 2018. I have written fiction - the China quartet consists of four crime novels set in 1990s China and Hong Kong, and I have published three comic novellas.
