Before joining the site at launch in June 2011 he worked as a journalist for BBC Radio 4, including the weekly analysis programme The Westminster Hour and the flagship Today programme. In 2011 he published his first novel, an epistolary thriller weaving in elements of blogging and social media. He would write his second novel, but never finds the time.
